You want to install Windows Technical Preview (Windows 10 Beta) with Columbus

This article applies only to the build 1074!

More Information

You need to have at least Columbus 7.3.x to be able to deploy WTP.

  1. Determine which architecture to test (x86/x64) and get a copy to extract to temporary folder for „Windows Enterprise Technical Preview“ from:

  2. Make a copy of a fresh Windows 8 Release and (optionally) name it Win10.x64 or Win10.x86

  3. Copy the content from temporary extracted source files into the .\OS\ folder of the new created OS-Release

  4. Extract the attached jobs
    - c_AllowBuilt-InAdmin (This will allow the built in Administrator to open the new menu (without this job the local Administrator could run into troubles when opening the new Windows 10 start menu)
    into the .\Job\ folder
Rem.: Even though you want to install Windows 10 Microsoft uses the values from Windows 8.1.

  5. Make sure the ProductKey within the unattend.txt is <Key>PBHCJ-Q2NYD-2PX34-T2TD6-233PK</Key> (Default)

  6. Schedule a Scan for OS changes action and wait for it to be done
